Eppe de Haan

Eppe de Haan (1949) studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague and graduated in 1974. After his graduation he began his artistic career as a painter of portraits and interiors amongother things but soon discovered that what he was searching for could not be found in two dimensions on a canvas.
It turned out he was more of a sculptor than a painter and working in three dimensions gave him the opportunity to extract his vision from the bronze and smooth marble.
Like many of his famous national and international colleague sculptors Eppe de Haan has found his place in the pittoresque Italian town Pietrasanta, near the Carrara marble quarries.
